Rights and reasons alert / October 30, 2026

A Meeting Date Is Not a Mandate

Alberta Liberty and Lifestyle Rights Association says the November 4 listing should start public reasons, not end them.

The process has a new date

the committee page lists a November 4, 2026 meeting. the bill page still shows no amendments and the bill remains at second reading referred to committee.

Rights require reasons

If government restricts lawful adult choice, the public should see clear reasons, evidence that current enforcement is inadequate, and a plan that does not reward unregulated sellers.

Five reasons to publish before any vote

  1. The specific youth-access source.
  2. The current enforcement gap.
  3. The adult products affected.
  4. The illegal-market mitigation plan.
  5. The review date and success metric.
