Liberty Policy Still Needs a Measurement Plan

Adult liberty arguments are strongest when paired with public accountability. Alberta should measure before it restricts.

Freedom and evidence belong together

The Premier's recent provincial-autonomy framing is about Alberta making decisions for itself. That principle is stronger when Alberta can show that its own restrictions are based on evidence, not habit or political pressure.

Bill 208 should be reviewed with a clear measurement plan. If the goal is youth prevention, then youth access sources, retailer compliance, and illegal-market displacement should be tracked separately.

The rights test

A lawful adult should not lose access because the province failed to enforce against unlawful sellers. The restriction should match the proven problem.
